Forest walk on a father son day outAn adventure doesnt need to be time consuming or costly, even a local public footpath or forest can be a great adventure for a child.

No matter what the weather provides, grab a coat and some wellies or slap on the sun cream and take a leisurely stroll with the kids somewhere local.

Harrison and I enjoy searching for things in the woodland, like animals, acorns or pinecones. We usually go to Delamere Forest which is our local forest. They have a trial to search for The Gruffalo or Stickman. They also have beautiful picnic areas and flat grassy areas to take some outdoors toys for a really fun, cheap day out.

It’s nice to put away your smart phone or tablet, get away from the television set for an hour or two.

We’re off to a slow start…

The Book Cub has been an idea of mine for some time now and I’ve never got round to getting it off the ground. Well, here I am, taking my first steps to building something that means a lot to me.

My son has always had a fascination with books, at 4 years old he is starting his reading journey. His education is something that is important to me and I want to be a part of that.

I’m looking forward to sharing our experiences, stories and opinions from our favourite books, toys, games and days out.
